Seventeen years of noticing what could be beautiful
People ask how one person ends up doing makeup, photography and interiors, and whether that means I'm any good at any of them.
The honest answer is that it's one job.
Colour theory doesn't know whether it's on a face or a wall. Light doesn't care whether it's falling on a bride or a benchtop. Proportion is proportion. I've spent seventeen years learning to see the same three things, and somewhere along the way I stopped apologising for the fact that they turn up in more than one place.
I'm Antoinette. I'm based on the Gold Coast, I have three children, and I've been paid to look closely at things since 2008.
How it went...
2008 My first bride. I had no real idea what I was doing and did it anyway.
2009 Founded my own makeup brand. Lead Makeup teams for fashion shows
2011 Started importing professional brands other Australian artists couldn't get here. This was before Sephora had a store in the country.
2012 The brand expanded into Europe through a partnership with a German makeup school.
2014 My son was born.
2015 Renovated my first house, with a baby
2016 My first daughter.
2017 Renovated the second.
2018 Trained under Mario Dedivanovic.
2019 Moved to the Gold Coast and renovated again.
2020 My second daughter.
2022 Bought a neglected three-storey house that everybody had an opinion about.
2023 Grand Designs Australia filmed the renovation. Grand Designs Magazine ran it. When it listed, it was one of the Gold Coast's most-viewed homes of the week on realestate.com.au.
2025 The year all of it stopped being separate jobs.
2026 Weddings most weekends. Design work & weddings during the week. Mum life, always. Creative projects & painting on the kitchen table in whatever down time is left over (never stop creating & fuelling the creative passion).
Four Renovations. Three babies. One television crew. Director of 2 Businesses before 30. Countless weddings.

The house
Three storeys, neglected, and by most 'logical people' a bad idea. Mould, cracked tiles, a front door falling apart as you enter, and trees growing through the shed.
I chose every finish in it myself and project-managed every trade on site, while we lived on the third floor and the two below us were gutted. It taught me more about colour, light and proportion than any course could have. It was the biggest scale renovation with a lot of time restraints due to filming as well as a budget I had to balance to make sure the overall vision wasnt lost along the way.
